We welcome Tia back the farm to lead our first workshop of our Last Saturday of the Month series.
Join us at Waihuena Farm on the North Shore of Oahu to learn basic gardening techniques such as garden bed preparation, seed starting, and plant propagation with gardening expert, Tia Silvasy. In this class we’ll do a hands-on demonstrations of how to plan, plant, and tend to your garden.

ABOUT TIA: Tia Silvasy developed a passion for growing plants and food on her grandmother’s 13-acre organic farm in Pittsburgh, PA and has worked in all kinds of horticultural, botanical, and agricultural settings including greenhouses, nurseries, farms, botanical gardens, arboretums, natural lands, and interior settings. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Liberal Studies and a graduate certificate in Non-Profit Management from the University of Central Florida and co-founded a Florida based non-profit Simple Living Institute. Tia has been teaching gardening and permaculture workshops since 1996. She originally came to Waihuena Farm to assist with our 2012 Permaculture Design Certificate course and has been instrumental in helping with our educational and volunteer programs.
